Riding Lesson Program

hunter jumper lessons at Harvest Moon Acres
Tomorrow's advanced equestrians are today's beginners. All great riders had to start somewhere, right?

Although we specialize in helping 4H members and youth riders achieve their horsemanship goals, we have a large number of adult students who are either returning to riding after an extended absence or are JUST beginning to ride.

We take pride  in building confidence and foundation in basic horsemanship in our beginner riders.

Rest assured that you are receiving personalized, safe instruction from a professional, insured, CHA Certified Riding Instructor. Our instructor to student ratio is the best!  Our safety record speaks for itself. Safety is our number one priority, and you will never be over-mounted. Our horses are safe for all ages and riding levels.

Once comfortable with their skills, we give our students several opportunities throughout the year to go compete at local shows. This gives our students a sense of pride, teaches them about good sportsmanship and allows them to network with other horse people in the community and have FUN!

Lessons here at Harvest Moon involve more than just getting on a horse and riding around and around in a circle.

Students literally start from the ground and work their way up, with lessons in safe horsemanship being our top priority. Our program is goal -oriented. Students face new, fun challenges in each lesson, whether it's an equitation pattern or trail course.

All students will learn about:
  • equine anatomy
  • equine psychology
  • equine first aid
  • use of proper equipment and its care
  • arena and barn safety
  • equine care and nutrition
  • horsemanship

Ride your own horse or learn on one of ours. Whether you're a new rider who's interested in showing locally, or an older student who's getting back into riding for the fun of it, we have several sweet, husband and beginner-safe horses for you to ride! We ride in the arena, in the fields, on the trails - WHEREVER!

Scheduling is flexible. Weekend, evening and daytime lessons  available in beginner to intermediate English and Western discipline including basic horsemanship, equitation, trail, beginner jumping, and western pleasure.

We also have several quality horses available for on-site lease. Please contact for availability and pricing.
